Iguassu falls : heaven on earth

Arrived in Iguassu on the 20th from Sao Paulo, taxi straight to the hostel. Shared dorm of 8 beds. we had a little wonder, went to the Iguassu Falls entrance to check prices etc for the day after.. ended up watching France teach Switzerland a lesson in counter attack football. Think Benzema is going in the dream team next week! Looking sharp. Didn't get much sleep in the night due to a couple of wild Snorahoruses keeping me up, and bren as well. Would say half the room were taking part in this jurassic mating calling session. Ah well. 8am breaky followed by 3 hours venturing around the water falls. One of the most picturesque places I've ever been in my life. Apparently the volume of water increased 40% compared to the same time last year because of the massive increase in tropical rainfall in the Brazilian summer. There's a walkway bridge which takes you into the middle of the falls, what an incredible experience and glad we purchased a waterproof jacket!
The weather was perfect. Total bluebird!
Was amazing to see a perfect rainbow develop whilst we were there aswell, it's like someone picked one up and dropped it perfectly right in middle of the falls, you could see both sides clearly. Lovely stuff!

There were boat rides and helicopter rides available, for a small fortune!
Rip off central, so didn't partake.

That's one thing we've noticed here is that the locals do love to rip off us tourists or 'Gringos' as they like to say.
Not too unfamiliar in the world we live in though! Just got to have a sensible amount of awareness.

Met some decent people at the hostel, managed to arrange a game of poker on the last night. Good crack. 6 of us, me and Bren made the last 2, I then won, luckily, by hitting runner runner diamonds to make a flush. Felt lucky though that day, it's not everyday you get to witness a natural wonder of the world!

Back to Sao Paulo on the 22nd, flight was 13:00, we got here at 11:45, we were told the flight had changed to 11:30.
We weren't notified at all. We certainly would have kicked off if they didn't arrange for us to jump on the 4pm flight. Could have been worse!

In SP now, looking forward to tomorrow's clash with Cameroon and hope they top the group. Got some great fixtures throughout the day, hoping to spend some time with Renata and Rogerio and watch the game at the sports club again. Vamos Brazil!

Cheers chums ☺
